Fighting bid rigging in public procurement

 

This course introduces the topic of fighting bid rigging in public procurement and highlights the importance of competition in enhancing the effectiveness of procurement procedures. It aims to increase relevant Arab stakeholders’ awareness and knowledge regarding the risks in the public procurement process and the benefits of a competitive environment in the public procurement market. It will strengthen stakeholders’ capacities to design efficient public procurement processes by equipping them with relevant knowledge and practical methods. This course was developed by ESCWA in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.

 

Target audience:

  • Primary audience: different groups of stakeholders involved in public procurement in the Arab region, such as public procurement officials, competition authorities, legislators and the private sector;
  • Secondary audience: students and the general public wishing to be introduced to the processes of public procurement and learn about useful methods for fighting collusive practices.
