Introduction to gender

This course aims to enhance awareness and understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment as a first step towards changing behaviour and integrating gender into the daily work of all United Nations personnel at headquarters, regional and country levels. It provides an introduction to international concepts and frameworks related to gender equality and women empowerment. It also allows learners to link gender to specific areas such as employment, education, political engagement, peace and security, reproductive and sexual health, gender-based diversity, human rights and women rights.

This course is part of a learning path leading to a professional certificate in gender.
