Counter trafficking in humanitarian settings

Humanitarian crises may exacerbate pre-existing trafficking trends and give rise to new ones. This course will help participants understand the United Nations protocols that define trafficking in persons; how human trafficking can occur; and how a crisis affects human trafficking trends. It will also provide information on how to respond to human trafficking and how to integrate anti-trafficking perspectives into a humanitarian coordination system.

Target audience:

  • Government entities;
  • United Nations agencies;
  • International and local non-governmental organizations;
  • Other humanitarian personnel;
  • Individuals involved with anti-trafficking interventions in contexts affected by crisis.
